I think it is an ok game for 1996, but i think it is more suited for arcade machines but somehow ended up on consoles.
It is a hard game but if you get into it you can have a lot of fun well at least i did.
Other then this mode the game has two additional mode one is a Rail Shooter and another is driving game, all in all it has a good lasting appeal.

Absolutely fantastic game with amazing visuals, animations and sound. However there are few problems with this game: The controller has latency it is very problematic when the frame rate drops, the other problem is that it doesnt have the best collision detection, finally i the game has a very good level design but it is not apparent what to do so you end up making leaps of faith.
 Still absolutely fantastic game for its time
